of course merry and pippin are best friends (and more if you ask me...) but all things are pushed aside when a mushroom cake is at stake....
Yay! for pippins [belated] birthday!! well, his [implied belated] birthday. His real implied birthday is march the third, which I seem to be a little late for, considering what the time of day (or night rather) that this is going up.
So, why march 3? well, when it came to determining the birthdays of lotr characters whose birthdays are never given (which is everyone except frodo and bilbo if i'm not forgetting anyone, which i have a strange feeling in the back of my head that i am...) I turn to my trusty-dusty astrology book, and determine what month they'd be born in dependant upon which zodiac sign they are most similar to. Merry for example is an almost perfect Leo, where as Sam is a good candidate for Cancer, so they would be born in July and June respectively. But pippin on the other hand, has both Gemini AND pisces traits....so me being PIPPINincarnate and me also being a gemini, I decided to make pippin a pisces, besides, march is a way cooler month than june....I have a bad habbit of making puns without realising it....i wonder if they make a pill for that now...anyway, it's the third because my b-day is june the third, so i just gave pippin the martian parallel....I wander if the word martian can be used to describe things that pertain to march, i mean, it is named after the god Mars, so why not? Guh! just one more date away from being a leyline...of dates...would that be called a dateline?
La, sooo, Pippin just discovered a mysterious mushroom cake and is all like OMG!! *drool* It's all MINE!!!!!!!! and suddenly has an uncharacteristic boost of stregnth and pushes merry away singlehandedly. But merry wants some toooooo! well, it is a hobbit custom for the birthday hobbit to give out the gifts rather than recceiving them, so i suppose at least half of the cake is in store for him ^.^
