ahhhh, well, I used marker for the lake-monster, but everything else I used oil pastel; starting with dark colours and blending them out with lighter ones. Oil pastells are my new best friend

Oh really? I thought it was oil pastels, but in some places it looks a bit... dunno... wet?xDDD Oil pastels are cool, I love them I really have to buy new ones, they are almost finished

Anyway, I just love this picture. It's so...well, eye-catching, for one thing. The silhouette against those colours is just brilliantly done, and neither the black or the blues/yellows/orange take away from the other - it's a wonderful balance!
The darkening sky bit, around what I'm supposing is a moon, reminds me somewhat of Van Gogh paintings...

I would totally hang this on my wall.

van gogh eh? hmmm....i can't say that I see it, but i'll take your word for it ^^ perhaps the swirrly strokes and the grainy texture of the oil pastel give the feeling of one of his paintings??
